Geek Gems

About

Geek Gems is a daily updated collection of nerdy, unique, and pop culture savvy products in the world of gadgets, gifts, novelties, wearables, design, and more.

Scarlett is Geek Gems’ founder and lead treasure hunter, a dangerously cheeky geek and desert rose dwelling in Phoenix, Arizona. She has serious penchants for PC gaming, music, and assorted technological geekery; a wicked case of 80′s nostalgia, and has never met a terrible pun she didn’t like.

Outside of GG, Scarlett occasionally waxes philosophic, rambles, and even sings some torchy tunes over at her personal blog, Scarlettopia. She also delights in innuendo-filled banter on Twitter @Scarlettopia.

Sleepless Colin is a former Kansas City-area newspaper scribe who has had the occasional martini that wasn’t as dry as his wit. When he isn’t secretly trying to put up a cot in his local 24 Hour Fitness, he’s an enthusiastic console gamer and music lover. Most intriguingly, he has honed a sixth sense for unearthing hysterically awful cinema du crap from Netflix’s deepest bowels. His friends still haven’t forgiven him for Teeth and Monsturd.

When he’s not working in the geek mines a-goin’ down, down, down, he’s running off at the mouth all hours on Twitter @SleeplessColin and at his newly-revamped blog, Colin’s Diner.

Bethany is a half-Martian, all-Geeky kind of girl who sticks around Oklahoma because the red dirt reminds her of home. She crafts, she watches movies, she reads, and she writes.

Bethany’s most commonly found on her webpage, Martian Bethany & the Case of the Horrible Movies, and her infrequent Bad Movie Live Tweets (also known as BMLTs or “Bacon Mutton Lettuce Tomato”, for those that get that joke) @MartianBethany.

Sammee is a small town girl living in the Midwest. Other than being a fledgling songwriter, she’s a semi-professional Etsy stalker and a full time enthusiast for any one of her obsessions which include, but are not limited to: musicals, old Disney cartoons and movies, fedoras, Harry Potter, books, and of course, staring at some kind of screen.

She also enjoys having much longer than necessary discussions about things nobody cares about, such as zombie lemmings. Her personal blog is Snarky’s Wonderland.

Dr. Tomorrow was a consummate nerd (read: software engineer) before becoming a high school teacher, where he now aims to warp shape young minds and help to create the next great generation of geeks. He’s a desert dwellin’ Disney fiend who loves steampunk, art deco, and Azeroth in equal measure, and who proudly wears the LotR “One Ring” as his wedding band. (Though he does abstain from calling it “my precious”. Usually.)

If asked to sum up the good Dr. in a single quote, Scarlett would choose a mutual favorite: “A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.” (Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory)
