Pirate Treasure Purse

I must be on a steampunk kick lately, because as soon as I saw this pirate booty-licious purse, I immediately began mentally designing a LARPing outfit around it. “A busty wench bustier would be more on theme, but I do have a soft spot for those steampunky, vintage goggles …” And I don’t even LARP, dammit! Cute accessories have a strange and powerful effect on the ladies.

The Steampunk Industrial Clutch Purse is hand-painted and aged, with a cache of pirates gold attached to the lid in a most bountiful fashion. It may not necessarily be the most practical handbag, but c’mon! Style over function, people. Arrrrrrrrr you with me? ;)

OMG that is all kinds of awesome. It's also one of the things I've come across where I haven't thought 'you know, I could make that'- not that this is necessarily a bad thing, but steampunk is pretty much ABOUT hand-built, do it yourself kind of stuff. Goggles at the medfair, made out of scraps of leather- 90 freaking dollars. I probably have the materials in my garage, right now, to make almost identical ones. Unbelievable.

Uh, sorry for the minirant. Leather is surprisingly easy to work with and the tools are fairly cheap, so seeing stuff that's easy to replicate sold for way too much money generally gets me worked up. The purse is awesomely adorable and reasonable, cost-wise, IMO. (On another note, the Etsy link seems to be broken.)

Oh noes! Therein lies the trouble with scheduling posts in advance. :-/ I can't remember the seller's Etsy ID either. Hmmmm. I'll keep trying and will update the link if the item comes back again. Thanks for the heads-up, Bethany!
